Narrows Music Society presents: Harbor Winds
Join us for a wonderful evening of music under guest conductor William Klouse and featuring celebrated saxophone soloist Erik Steighner! The concert is on Saturday, May 20th at 7PM in the Gig Harbor High School Auditorium. Admission is free and donations always welcome.
Gig Harbor Beer Festival
The Festival will feature a wide variety of Northwest craft brewers offering event-goers a splendid mix of familiar favorites and new brews to taste.

The Tides Tavern Classic Boat Show
Open to the public, this event will be highlighting programs offered by our local museums. Among the displays will be the Gig Harbor BoatShop's Purse Seiner "VETERAN" and the Harbor History Museum's replica Longboat "PORPOISE". These craft both made major contributions to the founding of Gig Harbor and growth in the shipbuilding and fishing industry.
Come down to support and learn about the programs these museum's have to offer the public.
And of course, those elegant yachts of the last century will be there showing off their mahogany and chrome -- another reminder of days gone by.
20th Annual Students of Distinction Award Dinner
Each February, 30-40 high school seniors are nominated by teachers, peers, parents, or community members in seven categories. Then, beginning in April each year, The Peninsula Gateway features vignettes highlighting the students’ accomplishments over a six week period leading up to the awards ceremony held in late May.

Local Makers Spring Market and Festival

Sponsored by the City of Gig Harbor and many great local businesses, the event will feature over 50 Local Makers & Artisans, as well as "Mini-Makers" (youth entrepreneur makers) showcasing their skills, local Food and Beverage vendors, DIY creative and pampering workshops, aerial artist, face painters, balloon artists, live music and MUCH more.
The Community Table
Launching in 2023, The Community Table is the Greater Gig Harbor Foundation’s (GGHF) Social Capital Core Area Board's signature fundraising event. Attendees will join in a grand

Giggging Up The Harbor
The Alliance's 6th Annual downtown clean-up day is Saturday, May 14 from 9am until 12pm! We call it "Gigging up the Harbor" and it's your chance to help spruce up and give a little extra love to our magnificent downtown. Just meet us at Skansie Brothers Park around 9am and we'll direct you to areas that need some TLC. We'll provide a volunteer lunch at the conclusion of the event.

After the Blast: Mount St Helen's 40 Years Later Webinar
Brought to you by Humanities Washington, Harbor History Museum is excited to welcome writer and biologist Eric Wagner.
On May 18, 1980, the world watched in awe as Mount St. Helens erupted, killing 57 people and causing hundreds of square miles of destruction. Everyone thought it would take ages for life to return to the mountain, but scientists who visited soon after were stunned to find plants sprouting up through the ash and animals skittering around downed trees.
Ecologists have since spent decades studying life’s resilience in the face of seemingly total devastation. Through their work, the eruption of Mount St. Helens has become known as the greatest natural experiment in Pacific Northwest history. In his talk, Eric Wagner takes you on a journey through the blast zone. He explores not just the surprising ways plants and animals survived the eruption, but also the complex roles that people have played, all while showing how fascinating Mount St. Helens still is 40 years after the blast.
