The spectacular setting of our Puget Sound at Chambers Bay Golf Course was chosen once again for a USGA Championship! The 2022 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship follows the 2010 U.S. Amateur, the 2015 U.S. Open, and the 2021 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball, all previously hosted at Chambers Bay.
This golf championship marked the beginning of women’s competitive golf in the U.S. back in 1895 and continues its legacy right here in our neck of the Sound.
156 players will compete in the U.S. Women’s Amateur. Following 18-hole rounds of stroke play on August 8th and 9th, the top 64 players will continue on for match play. Five 18-hole rounds of match play will determine the finalists who will square off in a 36-hole championship match on August 14th.
Attendance to the U.S. Women’s Amateur is complimentary and does not require a ticket for admission. Fans are invited to attend all days of the competition. Parking will be available on the event lawn. Complimentary activities for juniors including a Junior Scavenger Hunt and junior autograph books will be available.
Please note, the Central Meadow, Soundview Trail, and dog park will be closed from August 6th – 14th. The North Meadow and Grandview Trail will remain open.
