Join us for a fun-filled weekend celebrating our Gig Harbor community and our maritime heritage, August 21-22, downtown for The Maritime Gig Festival. This time-honored tradition, normally experiencing 6,000-10,000 people the first weekend in June, will take place as a celebration of reopening after the challenges of the pandemic. The weekend kicks off with a pancake breakfast put on by the Gig Harbor Kiwanis club and then follows with the US Bank 5K family fun run. When the runners are through, the parade begins and heads down Harborview Drive from Donkey Creek to the Tides Tavern. At the conclusion of the parade, the vendor booths open and the entertainment begins in Jerisich Park.
Be sure to come back on Sunday to enjoy the car show, entertainment, and more. The fishing fleet will still be in Alaska in August and we are planning to honor them in a meaningful way at the Maritime Gig.
Visit the GH Chamber Website for more details on attending, vending, running, marching, or entertaining.
